TORONTO – MTS Allstream chief corporate officer Chris Peirce is leaving the company effective December 31, 2013.

Peirce (pictured) joined MTS Allstream's predecessor AT&T Canada in 1999 as vice-president, government affairs.  In roles of successive responsibility and breadth within the organization and as an active leader with industry groups, Peirce made significant contributions to the telecommunications policy landscape in Canada while also playing a leading role in shaping MTS Allstream's position on major issues including the contribution subsidy mechanism, competitor network access, anti-competitive behaviour, wireless spectrum auction rules and foreign investment regulations.

"Chris has been a key part of the MTS Allstream story since the earliest days of the company, and has played an important role both inside and outside the company as it has become one of Canada's leading communication solutions companies," said CEO Pierre Blouin, in the announcement.  "He has had significant influence on many functional areas of the company, and has been an effective voice for change in Canada's telecommunications market.  On behalf of the Board, and of his colleagues, I thank Chris for his contributions to MTS Allstream, and wish him the best in the future."

Paul Beauregard, currently MTS Allstream's chief administrative officer and corporate secretary, will assume Peirce's responsibilities and become chief corporate and strategy officer and corporate secretary.  In this new role, Beauregard will be responsible for the strategy, corporate development, regulatory, corporate communications and community investment functions of the company, and will continue to be responsible for the oversight of all legal and human resource matters at MTS Allstream, as well as coordinating and supporting the company's board of directors.
