QUISPAMSIS – The Canadian Cable Systems Alliance (CCSA) and TLN Television Network Inc. have completed a five-year master affiliate agreement for the distribution of all TLN’s Italian and Spanish digital TV services including Mediaset Italia, Sky Tg24 (Canada), Telebimbi in Italian, and TLN en Español, Teleniños and Cinelatino in Spanish.
“This new deal with TLN provides CCSA members the opportunity to grow their relationship with both Italian and Spanish speaking audiences across Canada,” said CCSA president and CEO Alyson Townsend, in the announcement. “By concluding this agreement, we can ensure that all CCSA members are providing their subscribers with full access to a wide range of quality TV options in their own language.”
“This is a big win for the Italian and Spanish speaking multicultural communities across the country served by CCSA member companies,” added TLN president Aldo Di Felice. “As StatsCan just reconfirmed earlier this year, more Canadians speak Spanish than any other foreign language in Canada. And Italian is the second most spoken language. So it is very important that CCSA has recognized this and ensured that its members will now be able to offer these communities what they have been asking for: more choice and more access to TV channels they want to watch.”
