MONTREAL – Stingray Digital, owner of Galaxie digital music service for TV, announced today that it will acquire Vancouver-based eMedia Networks’ Canadian retail, restaurant and other commercial accounts for a reported $2 million.
“This is a very strategic and synergistic acquisition for Stingray Digital since it allows us to grow our commercial subscriber base very quickly in a significant manner,” said Stingray Digital president and CEO Eric Boyko in a release. “Clients of eMedia will be able to benefit from Stingray’s extensive expertise in additional in-store sensorial marketing services including digital signage, scent and sound system design and installation.”
The eMedia Networks acquisition adds 5,000 retail locations to the more than 56,000 commercial locations Stingray Digital serves across Canada. New clients include Roots, Ardene, Bouclair, and Le Château, among others.
Stingray Digital is the leading multi-platform music service provider in the world, with more than 75 million subscribers in 71 different countries. It is the largest provider of music services in Canada for residential use through its Galaxie music service delivered to more than 10 million homes.
