Rogers Media rolls out the red carpet for multiplatform TIFF coverage


TORONTO – Rogers Media is promising its viewers, listeners and readers star treatment of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) which begins this Thursday, September 5 and runs through September 15.

TIFF fans can wake up on Thursday morning to Breakfast Television live from the red carpet at the Ritz-Carlton Toronto beginning at 5:30 AM.  Throughout the festival, Entertainment City will continue to bring audiences the day’s first scoop on late-night, breaking entertainment news on television, online, tablet and mobile.

On City, viewers can catch Entertainment City on CityNews at 5, 6, and 11 p.m. ET where hosts Dina Pugliese, Melanie Ng, Tammie Sutherland, and the hilarious celebrity expert duo of Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan, will report live from the red carpets and parties.  Making his TIFF reporting debut is reality star Brad Smith from The Bachelor Canada. City will also carry around-the-clock TIFF action with live videos on-demand, and live-streaming on CityNews.ca.

KiSS 92.5’s Taylor Kaye and Maurie Sherman will hit the carpets, parties, and press conferences, while 680News’s veteran entertainment reporters Gloria Martin, Rudy Blair, Eva Fragiskatos, and FIPRESCI jury member Leslie James cover all TIFF angles for Toronto’s only all-news radio station. 680News.com will also carry live stream video of the festival’s biggest red carpets as part of its online TIFF coverage. 

OMNI Television shines the spotlight on South Asian cinema at TIFF as Bollywood Boulevard’s Veronica Chail sits down with Indian film stars Irrfan Khan, A.R. Rahman, Freida Pinto, and the cast of the highly-anticipated Bollywood movie Shuddh Desi Romance.  Daily multilingual newscasts will also carry TIFF coverage, with reports on Chinese and Hong Kong movies to be featured on OMNI News: Mandarin Edition and OMNI News: Cantonese Edition, and Italian actors and directors here for TIFF to be featured on OMNI News: Italian Edition.
