TORONTO – The CBC the Toronto International Film Festival announced a new content partnership Thursday that will see some of TIFF’s top industry and public events held at the Corp’s Glenn Gould Studio and hosted by CBC on-air personalities including George Stroumboulopoulos and Anna Maria Tremonti.
The venue will host TIFF’s Industry Moguls series, Keynote Conversation, Doc Conference, telefilms Canada PITCH THIS! and Master Class as part of the festival’s broader conversation series.
CBC is also co-host and broadcast partner of TIFF’s annual inivitation-only Canada Party event to be held at the CBC Broadcast Centre on September 7 from 10pm – 2am.
“The Moguls” series will take place at the Glenn Gould Studio, while the “Mavericks” series will mainly be hosted at TIFF Bell Lightbox, featuring a movie screening and Q&A session afterward.
CBC personalities will host the following events:
- Sept. 6: What is Cinema? (TIFF Bell Lightbox), with Chuck Workman, hosted by Brent Bambury
- Sept. 7: Made In America (TIFF Bell Lightbox), with Ron Howard, hosted by George Stroumboulopoulos
- Sept. 7: In Conversation With… Irrfan Khan (Glenn Gould Studio)
- Sept. 8: In Conversation With… Spike Jonze (TIFF Bell Lightbox)
- Sept. 8:12.12.12. (Winter Garden Theatre) with Harvey Weinstein, hosted by George Stroumboulopoulos
- Sept. 9: For No Good Reason (TIFF Bell Lightbox), with Ralph Steadman, hosted by John Northcott
- Sept. 10: In Real Life (TIFF Bell Lightbox), with Beeban Kidron, hosted by Nora Young
- Sept. 12: Our Man In Tehran (TIFF Bell Lightbox), with Larry Weinstein and Ken Taylor, hosted by Susan Ormiston
- Sept 13: Women In Film 40th Anniversary (TIFF Bell Lightbox), with Madeline Anderson and Kay Armatage, hosted by Anna Maria Tremonti
