Global News to take The Morning Show national

TORONTO – After more than a year on air in Toronto, Global News will soon be serving up its breakfast morning show to a national audience. The Morning Show begins airing across all Global stations across Canada on Monday, January 7 from 9-9:30am ET/PT.

Led by host Liza Fromer, The Morning Show will provide Canadians with an informed perspective on the issues and concepts making headlines across the country says Global. The show immediately follows Global News’ local morning programs and will "move away from the traditional newswheel format to give viewers a thoughtful take on the stories they care most about." It will also continue to showcase "A-list celebrities, politicians and experts alike."

"The development of a national morning program is an important piece in Global News’ overall strategy and represents our continued dedication to providing Canadians with the most original and valuable news content possible," says Troy Reeb, Senior Vice-President, Global News and Station Operations. "We’re proud to be launching Canada’s only conventional network breakfast program, while giving viewers a show that dovetails perfectly into our already-established local morning news programs."

With a total of four local shows launched in communities across the country in the past two years, Global News now holds Canada’s largest morning show audience in the key news-relevant Adults 25-54 demographic claims Global. It’s also preparing to launch two more morning shows in Montreal and Halifax early next year.
