QUISPAMSIS and TORONTO – Shaw Media has been named ‘supplier of the year’ by the Canadian Cable Systems Alliance Inc. (CCSA).
The announcement was made official at ‘Connect 2013’, CCSA’s annual conference held last week at Mont Tremblant, Québec. The CCSA recently finalized an agreement with Shaw Media in a deal that includes SD, HD, non-linear set-top box VOD and broadband rights for 18 of Shaw’s services.
“It gave us great pleasure to recognize Shaw Media as Supplier of the Year during our 20th Anniversary celebration”, said CCSA president and CEO Alyson Townsend, in the announcement. “Shaw Media has consistently proven to be a cooperative partner and is a generous supporter of our conference each year.”
“We congratulate the CCSA on the occasion of their 20th Anniversary and are proud to receive this honour”, added Paul Robertson, group VP broadcasting, Shaw Communications Inc. and Shaw Media president. “The successful renewal of our agreement reflects our commitment to a positive working relationship, and is a testament to the efforts of the CCSA to ensure that their Members have access to new platform content and flexibility to remain competitive in this rapidly changing market.”
As the voice and vision of Canada’s independent cable companies, the CCSA connects over 100 independent cable operators (its members) and their subscribers with programming and equipment.
