REGINA, SK – Access Communications is launching a new internet service that will be available in every neighborhood in Regina, as well as Coppersands, Emerald Park, Pilot Butte, White City, Balgonie and Milestone.
The service, called AccessHyperSpeed, offers Internet download speeds of up to 100 Mbps – 10 times faster than the cable company’s previous top speed, AccessHighSpeed Platinum. The new service is available in three options: AccessHyperSpeed 20, AccessHyperSpeed 50 and AccessHyperSpeed 100 (with 20, 50 and 100 Mbps download speeds, respectively). As an example, a 1.6 GB high definition movie that would have previously taken 24 minutes to download with AccessHighSpeed Platinum, will now take two minutes and 30 seconds with AccessHyperSpeed 100.

“After several months of extensive testing internally and with a group of external customers, we are excited to roll out the service to Regina and surrounding communities,” said Jim Deane, CEO of Access Communications, in a statement. “The next steps will be to launch in other Access communities and to continue to increase our speeds to over 200 Mbps download.”
Access Communications is a Saskatchewan-owned non-profit co-operative that is dedicated to being a part of the communities it lives in, reinvesting 100% of its earnings into the 220 communities it serves. Access has about 90,000 subscribers in and around the Regina area.
