IRVING, TEXAS – eRecyclingCorps (eRC), has appointed Patrick Button as vice president and general manager for Canada. Based out of Waterloo, Ontario, Button will lead eRC's Canadian operations and expansion strategy, including management of the company's existing device trade-in programs with Telus and other leading wireless operators and retailers throughout the country.
"eRecyclingCorps is the clear leader in this rapidly growing and important industry, putting money back in consumers' pockets and improving operators' bottom lines," said Button. "Having spent the vast majority of my career with some of world's largest device manufacturers, I've seen e-waste become a serious financial and operational threat to our industry. eRecyclingCorps' proven, highly scalable solution provides real cost savings while radically changing the global device ecosystem, and I look forward to extending this solution across Canada."
Button joins eRC following two decades in the consumer electronics and telecommunications industries at leading OEMs and wireless carriers. He most recently served as vice president of consumer sales and distribution for Research in Motion (RIM), where he oversaw North American channel strategies. Under Button's leadership, RIM significantly increased sales at key retail outlets, including Best Buy, Walmart and RadioShack. Prior to RIM, Button held executive positions in sales and marketing at LG Mobile, Samsung Electronics and Sony of Canada in addition to Bell Canada.
"Pat brings an impressive depth of industry knowledge to our growing team in Canada. He understands the complexities of the mobile device supply chain having negotiated distribution deals for leading OEMs with operators and retailers," said David Edmondson, eRC CEO. "As an accomplished sales and marketing executive, Pat will be instrumental in scaling our current programs while expanding our footprint throughout the Canadian market."
