Vista Radio’s staff honoured by MS Society of Canada

KOOTENAY REGION, BC – Vista Radio's Kootenay stations have won province-wide recognition from the MS Society of Canada. Only one Certificate of Exceptional Achievement is given to media around BC and the Yukon, and this year it's been awarded to 103.5 The Bridge in Nelson.

With assistance from sister-station Mountain FM in Castlegar, The Bridge not only acts as a media sponsor, but also actively takes part in helping spread the MS Society's mission.

"The Bridge registers in the MS Walks and Bike Tours. They buy carnations and a table at a gala evening fundraiser, becoming a part of all the events," said Janet Palm, President of the MS Society's BC & Yukon Division. "The radio station's continuing participation helps us to believe that if we all work hard together, we can make a difference. We can find a cure."

"I am so very proud of my staff and their commitment to the communities that we serve," said Kevin Einarson, Vista's General Manager in the Kootenays.

"This goes to show that small stations can make a big difference," said Vice President of Programming, Jason Mann. “This award could have gone to any media outlet in the province, so I’m thrilled to see our team in the Kootenays recognized for their work.”
