UPDATE: More executive shuffling announced as Bell folds Astral in


TORONTO – According to internal Bell Media memos obtained by Cartt.ca, changes in upper management structure continues apace and while some (from both Bell and Astral Media) have departed, others have been promoted or named to new positions.

Those departing, which we haven’t yet reported on in our past stories are: Rob Dilworth, Bell Media’s VP, research; Peter Furnish, Astral Television’s VP marketing; Kevin Wright, SVP Astral Television; Marie Collin, SVP, programming and communications for VRAK TV, Canal Vie and Ztélé; Johanne St-Laurent, VP Affiliate Relations, Marketing, Communications, and Operations for Super Écran, Cinépop and Disney Junior French; and Sylvie Shapiro, VP, research and strategic development, Les Chaînes Télé Astral and MusiquePlus.

Those in new positions at Bell Media are: Gianni Di Iorio, VP research and revenue management, Jon Taylor, VP digital products and strategy, and Jon Arklay, SVP, Bell Media Agency – brand, creative, and marketing, all working under Adam Ashton, SVP business operations.
TSN Marketing (Stewart Johnston), RDS Marketing (Gerry Frappier) and Québec TV and Radio Brand, Creative and Marketing (Charles Benoît), remain unchanged.

Under Rick Brace, president, specialty channels and Bell Media Production, those in new positions include Catherine MacLeod, SVP specialty channels; Domenic Vivolo, SVP, pay TV; Justin Stockman, executive director, music and entertainment specialty channels. Paul Lewis, will continue to lead Discovery Channel’s day-to-day operations, and Nanci Maclean will continue to lead all in-house production across CTV and entertainment specialty channels. Sheila Sullivan will continue to lead the team that produces live event television specials for Bell Media channels, including the MMVAs, We Day and red carpet specials as executive director/producer, specials production.

Under Charles Benoit, president, TV and Radio, Québec, those with new business cards are: Mario Clément, VP, Content; Pierre Rodrigue, VP Communications, Marketing and Industry Relations; Martin Spalding, VP radio operations and local sales, Québec; Odile Methot, President, Harold Greenberg Fund, Québec.

And under Bell Media Radio chief Chris Gordon, the new executives are: Ian Lurie, SVP English radio and Val Meyer, VP/GM, Toronto Radio.
