Government reappoints Peter O’Brian as TVO board chair

TORONTO – The Ontario Government has reappointed Peter O'Brian as Chair of the TVO Board of Directors for a two-year term. O'Brian has been with TVO since 2005.

O'Brian is an accomplished independent film producer whose films have won 19 Genie Awards. A founding board member of the Canadian Film Centre and former Executive Director, O'Brian's many collaborations with talented directors and original Canadian projects have made him a leader in Canadian cinema.

"The Board is very proud of TVO's successful transformation over the last six years from a single TV channel to a digital media organization that engages Ontarians on multiple platforms," said O'Brian. "I greatly look forward to continuing as Chair and to furthering TVO's impact through innovation in educational media."

"TVO is fortunate to have a Chair who is so committed to TVO's educational mission and to ensuring it is vibrant and robust for the citizens of Ontario," said Lisa de Wilde, Chief Executive Officer of TVO.
