New data centre opens in Montreal’s business district

MONTREAL – Canadian Colo announced today the opening of its seventh and newest data centre in Montreal.

Located in the Montreal Stock Exchange Tower in the city’s business district, the 22,000-square-foot facility offers a number of scalable hosting solutions for colocation, bandwidth, and hosting.

“We’re very proud of what we have here,” said Thomas Bernier, head of sales, in a company release. “There’s nothing like it in downtown Montreal, even though there is a very real need for it.”

The data centre, which has been in operation since the spring, was able to test its services when a major power outage in early August affected Montreal's business district. While the whole Stock Exchange Tower was in darkness, Canadian Colo’s datacentre continued to provide uninterrupted service to its customers, the company said.

Canadian Colo provides clients with the necessary infrastructure for connectivity, power supply, cooling, and fire suppression. Bell is listed on the company's website as a service provider, along with Level 3 Comunications, Tinet International, Tata Communications and nLayer Communications.
