EXTON, PA – More speaker news from the organizers of the upcoming SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2013, with today’s announcement that Michael Powell, president and CEO of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association and former chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, will be the keynote at the opening general session for the conference.
Powell will be joined by Kevin Hart, EVP and CTO of Cox Communications and chairman of the Cable-Tec Expo 2013 Program Committee. The speakers will engage in a conversation-style keynote on Tuesday morning, Oct. 22, addressing a variety of industry technology and policy issues.
Powell served as FCC chair from 2001 to 2005 and was an FCC Commissioner for eight years. Prior to joining NCTA in 2011, he served two years as co-chairman of Broadband for America, a coalition of more than 300 companies dedicated to expanding the discussion of broadband availability in the U.S.
