KELOWNA, BC – Global Okanagan weather specialist Mike Roberts is retiring this week after marking his 40th anniversary on the air.
Roberts, who has been on-air longer than any other current Global News personality, spent his career at Global Okanagan / CHBC providing viewers with their weather forecasts each night on News at 5, News at 6:30 and News at 11. He is also well known for his involvement in the community and is a recipient of the Governor General of Canada “Caring Canadian” award. Roberts’ last weather broadcast for Global Okanagan will be Friday, September 6.
“I’m extremely lucky to have had the career I’ve had, and to have worked with the best in the business, while living in a community I love dearly”, said Roberts, pictured, in a statement. “I’m eager to see what new adventures await as I take my first steps into retirement.”
