Don Gaudet joins Stornoway as VP Programming, Cindy Boyd promoted to VP Operations

TORONTO – Stornoway Communications has announced two key additions to its senior management team. Don Gaudet, a 25-year veteran of the Canadian television business, has joined Stornoway as Vice President of Programming, and Cindy Boyd has been promoted to the position of Vice President of Operations.

The announcement follows the decision by Martha Fusca to step down as president and CEO of Stornoway as reported last month by Cartt.

Gaudet will oversee all aspects of scheduling and in-house and independent production for Stornoway’s three digital specialty services: ichannel, The Pet Network and bpm:tv. In her new role, Boyd will oversee all broadcast, studio and engineering operations, and will be responsible for the supervising, training and development of all staff in these areas.

Gaudet began his broadcast career with STV Regina in 1987, held the role of Vice President, Programming for WIC Alberta Television, and later for Canwest Global. In this capacity, he helped to launch several successful specialty channels, including Mystery, Men TV, DejaView and Lonestar.

He went on to serve as General Manager, Programming for SUN TV / Men TV, and since 2011 has headed the Toronto-based media consultancy Stratmedia Enterprises.

Boyd, who joined Stornoway in 2006, has 25 years of experience in the Canadian media industry. She has worked previously as a supervisor and project manager for such broadcasters as YTV (Corus Entertainment), CHUM (The New VI) and Global Television.

“Don brings to Stornoway a tremendous breadth of television industry experience – both as a hands-on programmer, and as a leader in setting strategic vision and direction for television stations,” said Don Pagnutti, General Manager and CFO of Stornoway Communications.

“Cindy continues to bring a unique combination of technical knowledge and expertise, as well as exceptional project management and team-building skills, to this position,” added Pagnutti.
