TORONTO – GlassBox-owned Travel+Escape is gearing up to launch a new documentary-adventure series that aims to shed light on the technology dependence of Canadians.
Operation Unplugged, which will debut February 21 at 9 pm ET/PT, will follow eight self-proclaimed technology obsessed/dependent Canadians as they unplug from their network and embark on an adventure of personal journey through some of Canada’s national parks and historic sites.
A companion website will allow viewers to win prizes and to track their own network dependence through a connection to their Facebook and/or Twitter account which will provide a pattern of their online activity over time. The goal is for users to see their online activity and challenge themselves to reduce it. They may also share their ‘Network Dependence Tracker’ status on their profile and collect points for referring family and friends.
