VANCOUVER – Telus has invested an additional $7.3 million to bring 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE ) wireless service to Prince George, Kamloops and the Thompson Okanagan communities of Vernon, Armstrong, and Enderby. It’s also expanding the network across the communities of south central Vancouver Island and Greater Victoria including: Nanaimo, Duncan, Parksville, North Saanich, Metchosin, Colwood, Sydney, Mill Bay, Cobble Hill, Chemainus, Crofton, Ladysmith, Lantzville and Gabriola Island.
Additional B.C. communities, including several in the Thompson Okanagan region, will be getting access to 4G LTE in the coming months says Telus as it brings the technology to nearly 90% of the province’s population by the end of 2012.
“We are committed to offering you the best customer experience. A key part of that promise is bringing our 4G LTE service to communities across the north and in numerous other B.C. communities this year,” said Chris Jensen, Telus general manager for Northern B.C.”
The announcement means that Bell will also be offering its 4G services to customers in the same communities as Telus and Bell have a network sharing agreement in place.
