FashionTelevision Channel goes glossy

TORONTO – FashionTelevision is the latest broadcast property to extend its brand into print.

The Bell Media-owned station is launching a semi-annual magazine next month aptly entitled FT Magazine.  The premiere edition, poised to hit newsstands on November 22, will feature fashion royalty Grace Kelly on the cover plus include articles reflecting some of FT's most thought-provoking and visually-stimulating international stories from the world of fashion, photography and design.  Each print story will also include a companion video available on the channel’s website.

One thousand copies of FT Magazine will be available beginning November 2 at the TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto during the private opening night reception for the ‘Grace Kelly: From Movie Star to Princess’ exhibition. Copies will also be distributed on November 6 to select home subscribers of the Toronto Star and to targeted neighbourhoods in Vancouver, Montreal and Calgary.

"FashionTelevision has always had its roots in the magazine world," said Jay Levine, supervising producer of FashionTelevision and editorial director of FT Magazine, in a statement. "After the success of our 25th anniversary issue, we've been compelled to enter this market by finding a unique opportunity to connect print and video together in an interesting and engaging way. With a goal to deliver audiences the sexy style, glamour and classic taste that FT embodies, we couldn't think of a more fitting time or better fashion icon to feature on our premiere cover than Grace Kelly."
