Galaxie doubles channel count to 100

TORONTO – Stingray Digital has doubled the number of its Galaxie music channels after expanding its lineup to include new Canadian indie and multicultural choices and more variety in its most popular music genres.

The new channels are rolling out now to Canadian listeners through Galaxie’s television service provider partners.  The Galaxie service is distributed to more than 10 million homes in Canada, in addition to Europe and the U.S. via cable, satellite and IPTV.

“Our goal is for Galaxie to be the primary source of music for Canadians and to meet the needs of the casual music lover,” said Stingray Digital president Eric Boyko, in the announcement.  “By doubling the number of channels offered by Galaxie, we are making an already popular service even more appealing to a wider audience, and increasing the relevancy of the service for existing fans.”

Among the new channels are two, new all-Canadian channels, including Canadian Indie and various multicultural channels.
