Google to be honoured for innovation at Banff

BANFF – Internet search behemoth Google will receive the award of excellence in innovation at this year’s Banff World Media Festival.

The award will be accepted by Google’s SVP and chief business officer, Nikesh Arora, who will also give a feature interview in which delegates will get the chance to learn about the strategy behind Google’s growth and success.

"There’s no doubt that Google’s sweet spot is and always has been innovation,” said Banff executive director Ferne Cohen, in the news release.  “The company continues to drive innovation in multiple areas and industries with new products and services. We couldn’t be more pleased to share this prestigious award with them and are delighted that Nikesh will be attending Banff to accept it.”

The Banff World Media Festival is the world's largest gathering of entertainment industry and digital media executives dedicated to media content production, broadcast and distribution within TV and digital media.  The 33rd annual event will take place June 10 – 13, 2012 at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, AB.
