Bell pledges support to Canadian Olympians for four more years

LONDON – Bell Canada has committed to extend its support for Canadian Olympic athletes beyond London 2012 for an additional four years, said the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC).

The agreement encompasses several components including:

– the continuation of the Bell Athletes Connect program which provides nationally carded athletes with free mobile services;

– the construction of a social media delivery platform to help athletes to connect with each other and with Canadians;

– Bell and the COC will work together to heighten awareness of mental health through the Canada Olympic Schools Program and other initiatives; and

– Bell will contribute to programs which strengthen high performance sport in Canada.

"Bell is proud to renew our longstanding commitment to the Canadian Olympic Committee, and we're especially excited that the Canadian Olympic Committee will join Bell in making mental health a cornerstone of its philanthropic focus, bringing the conversation about mental health to schools across Canada," said Bell president and CEO George Cope, in the announcement.

The renewed sponsorship agreement extends the current agreement through 2016.
