TORONTO – As CTV’s Lloyd Robertson prepares to sign off for the final time on Thursday night, the 77 year old news veteran has posted a personal letter to viewers looking back on his 35 years at the network and ahead to the next chapter of his life.
“I can scarcely believe it’s finally happening”, reads the start of Robertson’s letter, which is available here. The chief anchor and senior editor also pays tribute to his many colleagues and his successor Lisa LaFlamme.
In the hour leading up to Robertson’s final newscast, CTV will air Lloyd Robertson – And That’s The Kind Of Life It’s Been, an original one-hour documentary directed by Robertson’s daughter Lisa. The documentary premieres September 1 at 10 pm local time, scheduled across Canada to immediately precede Robertson’s final newscast in all markets on CTV. It will also stream live, and encore presentations of the documentary have been scheduled for September 3 at 7 pm local time in all markets and on September 4 at 1 pm ET on CTV.
