TORONTO – Score Media has opened a New York sales office and named Ethan Ross to the position of vice-president of digital sales.
"The growth of our ScoreMobile platform in the United States has been explosive and requires a dedicated advertising sales force," said chairman & CEO John Levy, in Tuesday’s announcement. "Through our extensive search, we have identified Ethan as the perfect candidate to lead our U.S. sales group and we want to take this as an opportunity to officially welcome him to our team."
Ross has an extensive sales background that includes roles with Millennial Media as VP of mobile advertising sales and XOS Sports as VP of digital sales. In this role, Ross will be responsible for the development and execution of Score Media’s U.S. digital media sales strategy.
After acquiring rival sports app SportsTap in May, Score Media said that ScoreMobile currently ranks third in the United States behind sports applications ESPN and Yahoo!
"ScoreMobile’s U.S. user penetration is very compelling," said Ross. "As the U.S. mobile market continues to expand, the company’s ability to deliver highly customized and dynamic sports content to users on their personal devices presents marketers with a unique and cost effective way to reach a targeted audience. I’m excited to join the team to grow and effectively monetize this emerging platform."
