TSN Radio to debut in Montreal, Winnipeg on Wednesday

TORONTO – Bell Media is taking its TSN Radio format to Montreal and Winnipeg starting Wednesday.

Radio station The Team 990 in Montreal is being rebranded as TSN Radio 990, while Sports Radio 1290 in Winnipeg will become TSN Radio 1290 on October 5, just in time for the launch of the NHL season.

Both TSN stations will feature live NHL hockey coverage – TSN Radio 990 is an official broadcaster of the Montreal Canadiens and TSN Radio 1290 is the home of the Winnipeg Jets, but will also maintain a focus on local sports, reads Monday’s announcement.

“We are always looking to strengthen and extend the TSN brand by continuing to bring Canadians industry-leading sports content wherever they are”, said TSN president Stewart Johnston.  “TSN Radio and its local focus has quickly made a significant impact on the Toronto landscape and we are looking forward to doing the same in the key Montreal and Winnipeg markets”.
