Canadian ISPs join World IPv6 launch day

A NUMBER OF CANADIAN Internet service providers participated in World IPv6 Launch on Wednesday, rolling out the next-generation Internet protocol. The switch to Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), which occurred at midnight GMT Wednesday, is required to support the ever increasing number of subscribers, devices, and services that need to connect to the Internet. IPv6 can address 340 undecillion (36 zeroes) and offer enough addresses for every atom on the surface of the earth.
