REGINA – SaskTel is partnering with Kodiak Networks on its new Push-to-Talk (PTT) service that will run over its 4G network.
The new PTT service, which is tentatively scheduled to launch by the end of this year, will replace the existing SaskTel 10-4 service on the CDMA network. SaskTel said that the new service will be faster plus offer a greater choice of devices, including smart phones and rugged phones.
“Working closely with Kodiak, we have developed an excellent service for our 4G customers,” said chief marketing officer Stacey Sandison, in the announcement. “We expect the transition to be smooth and we will waive any early upgrade fees for current 10-4 subscribers who are ready to upgrade to the new 4G Push-to-Talk devices so they can continue to enjoy the benefits of push-to-talk.”
