PHILADELPHIA – Stream TV Network is trialling its new 3D technology that does not require specialized glasses at various public locations around the globe, just in time for the start of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The Philadelphia-based new media company said Tuesday that select Belushi sports bars in London, Edinburgh, Prague, Berlin and Paris will display their 42-inch Ultra-D televisions, while other venues in New York, Philadelphia, Taipei, Beijing and Shanghai will also showcase the technology. The locations will also host demos highlighting Ultra-D technology's compatibility with the iPad, iTunes, Appstore and the Apple TV.
Ultra-D is a proprietary 3D technology (viewing without glasses) that can be used for PCs, picture frames, tablets, TVs and other displays where live 2D and stereoscopic 3D broadcasts are autoconverted into 3D without glasses in real-time using the Ultra-D SeeCube conversion box.
