New guide helps Canadians navigate Olympic Games viewing options

TORONTO – Canada’s Olympic broadcast media consortium is helping viewers navigate the plethora of events at the London 2012 Olympic Games via a new interactive program guide.

Known as the Bell Viewers’ Guide, users may input their time zone to help keep track of the Consortium’s more than 5,500 hours of television and online coverage across networks CTV, TSN, RDS,  Sportsnet, V, OMNI.1, OMNI.2, OLN, and ATN plus websites CTVOlympics.ca and RDSolympiques.ca.  In addition highlighting live events, the guide flags medal events and ones in which Canadian athletes are expected to do well.  Optimized versions of the guide are also available for smart phones and tablets.

“Regardless of the screen Canadians choose, the Bell Viewers’ Guide is an essential part of the London 2012 experience,” said Mark Silver, head of digital media at Canada’s Olympic broadcast media consortium. “With round the clock coverage across our TV networks and digital platforms, we are providing our audience with an intuitive viewing companion for each day of the Games.”

The London 2012 Olympic Games take place July 27 to August 12, 2012.
