Mobilicity unveils expansion plans

TORONTO – Mobilicity has confirmed plans to extend its coverage in Ontario, BC and Alberta as well as launch in four new cities.

The wireless carrier will widen its network west of Toronto into Milton, Oakville, Burlington and Hamilton, plus will launch in Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa, cities located east of Toronto.  Mobilicity will also build out its network in the Barrhaven, Orleans and Cumberland regions near Ottawa.

In addition, Mobilicity confirmed it is in the process of extending its network within the Greater Vancouver Area to include White Rock, Pitt Meadows and the Richmond-Surrey commuter corridors, while in Edmonton, it will expand around St. Albert to the north and southward to the airport.

"We've spent the last year on network densification to provide a great network experience amidst tremendous growth in our existing service area," said president and COO Stewart Lyons, in the announcement.  "Now it's time to expand outward and bring Mobilicity's smart, affordable wireless service to more Canadians than ever."

The network updates will soon be reflected on the carrier's coverage map.
