Saskatchewan singers take note as SaskTel debuts The Karoake Channel app

MONTREAL – Stingray Digital and SaskTel have announced the availability of The Karoake Channel app for SaskTel Max, a Microsoft Mediaroom powered IPTV platform.

The app is one of the “world’s first truly interactive content apps on Microsoft Mediaroom,” delivering thousands of high-quality karaoke videos to television sets instantly via a feature-rich interface. The Karoake Channel app was recently awarded the prize for Best Entertainment Application at the 2012 International ITV Awards during MIPCOM in Cannes, France.

The app’s navigation makes it quick and easy to browse, search, play and queue songs, and quickly switch to full screen mode. The app’s song library includes hits from every era, in the genres of pop, rock, country and more.

"As we continue to roll-out our karaoke products and services worldwide, we are pleased to partner with SaskTel to release this interactive karaoke application for Mediaroom, the widest-deployed IPTV platform" says Eric Boyko, President and CEO of Stingray Digital, owner of The Karoake Channel. "As of today, Saskatchewan singers will enjoy the most advanced karaoke experience available on TV: high quality karaoke videos displayed on large screen TVs with the catalogue, features and convenience that SaskTel Max allows."

The Karoake Channel is available on SaskTel Max for customers to try for free. Access to the entire catalogue of more than 7,000 songs can be purchased for a 48-hour period for $4.95.
