EXTON, PA – The need for cable system operators to implement IP technologies that can drive new services, optimize efficiency and improve the consumer experience will be a key area of focus at the 2010 edition of SCTE Cable-Tec Expo.
Scheduled for October 20-22 in New Orleans, presentations on the technical and business implications of holistic content delivery networks, DOCSIS 3.0, home networking and IP video will be offered during the three-day event. Other workshops will address issues such as 3D video, upstream channel bonding, service quality measurement, monitoring and management; adaptive streaming; extension of Ethernet services; energy management; and BSS and OSS for business services.
“The availability of and demand for new services are accelerating the ability of cable operators today to differentiate product bundles, attract and retain subscribers, and generate new revenue,” said Jay Rolls, chairman of the program committee and SVP of technology for Cox Communications, in the announcement. “The IP technologies that are on the agenda for SCTE Cable-Tec Expo are at the forefront of enabling the industry to cost-effectively capitalize on those opportunities.”
