MONTREAL – Astral is gearing up for the tenth edition of ‘Media’s Big Food Drive’ to be held across the province of Quebec on Thursday.
Employees, television and radio hosts from the Astral family will collect cash and non-perishable food donations at various locations, including three spots in Montréal.
"The most recent statistics on poverty show that the number of people who depend on the help of food banks has grown to new and alarming levels in 2010," said Pierre Boisseau, assistant VP of corporate communications, in the announcement. “Québec remains one of the provinces most affected by this plague in the country with food banks helping nearly 310,000 people each month, over a third of which are children. That’s why Astral is rallying and calling on all of its listeners, viewers, and numerous partners to make a heart-felt gesture and give generously to Media’s Big Food Drive.”
