Corus radiothon raises more than $700 K for Quebec children’s hospital

MONTREAL – Corus’ radio stations in Quebec raised a record-breaking $758,000 during their annual one-day radiothon.

On November 17th, the United for the Kids of Sainte-Justine Radiothon saw five stations (The Q, CKOI, CKAC Sports, 98.5 FM, and CIME) campaign live from the entrance hall of Sainte-Justine to raise funds for the hospital. Parents, children, partners, caregivers, sports celebrities and other special guests spoke out to help sick children.

“The Q had the biggest year-over-year net gain in fundraising. It’s clear our listeners were moved by emotion, causing them to give more than ever,” said Brian DePoe, The Q’s program director, in a statement.

Since 2004, the Radiothon has raised nearly $3.70 million for the kids of Sainte-Justine. Sainte-Justine Hospital sees more than 245, 000 patients in external clinics; 60,526 in emergency; 10,366 for surgery and approximately 17,000 hospitalizations yearly.
