TORONTO – CTV is throwing its promotional might behind the second annual Aviva Community Fund competition.
The competition, which kicked off Tuesday morning on CTV’s Canada AM, encourages Canadians to submit an idea that will make a positive impact at home or across the country. Insurance group Aviva has doubled its pledge this year to offer $1 million in funding for the winning community initiatives.
“At CTV, we celebrate community and recognize the need to work together to make change happen,” said Mary Kreuk, VP of CTV Inc., in the announcement. “Working with the Aviva Community Fund allows us to leverage what CTV can offer to facilitate change in our communities, empower future leaders and create opportunities.”
Throughout the next four months, entries will be culled by on-line votes to a list of 30 finalists. From the list of finalists, the panel of judges, which include CTV host Tanya Kim and returning judge Canada AM producer, Tina Daenzer, will evaluate each of the top 30 ideas. The winners will be announced on January 25, 2011 on Canada AM.
