Haliburton Broadcasting adds three more Ontario radio stations

HALIBURTON, ON – Haliburton Broadcasting Group has picked up three more radio stations in Ontario.

The company told Cartt.ca on Wednesday that it has finalized deals to buy the Stratford combo 1240 CJCS-AM and 1077 MIX-FM (CHGK-FM) from Raedio Inc., and CFSF-FM Sturgeon Falls from JOCO Communications. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the deals are pending regulatory approval.

“Part of our company’s mandate is to offer local programming and service to a community, and we look for markets where we can enhance that philosophy”, said VP of programming and operations, Ross Davies, in an interview with Cartt.ca.  “Both of these new markets will allow us to have a stronger foothold in areas that we believe are ideal, and that will complement our existing stations.”

Haliburton Broadcasting Group now owns and operates 17 radio stations throughout Ontario in rural markets that include Haliburton, Huntsville and North Bay.
