TORONTO – Turkey, stuffing, gravy and… BlackBerries? A new survey commissioned by Wind Mobile revealed that more than a third of Canadians expect to find someone talking, texting or emailing at a holiday dinner this season.
The quirky survey, which included other “highlights” like approximately 20% of Canadians expect their mobile device will be a helpful tool while doing their holiday shopping, and 85% of Canadians believe that Santa would agree that they had been nice this year, coincided with the launch of Wind’s holiday campaign.
The company launched a ‘Naughty or Nice’ Facebook app that lets users invite their friends and social networks to hand down the verdict: are they an egg nog spiker or Christmas caroler? Ratings will be tracked on the Naughty or Nice meter, and whether the consensus is sugar plum or scrooge, users will receive a $20 handset discount.
Beyond the app, Wind Mobile launched a holiday offer which includes $17.50 per month for unlimited province-wide talk and global text, as well as 50% off all plans for six months.
