Rogers introduces news radio format to Ottawa

OTTAWA – Rogers Broadcasting will be flicking the switch on a new format in Ottawa on Monday.

The former Oldies 1310 will become 1310News, Ottawa’s only all news radio station.  With local, regional, national and international news all day, every day, Ottawa listeners will now have a radio station that provides traffic and weather together every ten minutes, every hour, plus sports twice each hour, and business news and market updates when the North American stock markets are open.

“We’re delighted to have the opportunity to deliver comprehensive 24/7 news coverage to the residents of Ottawa and the Valley”, said local manager, Scott Parsons, in the announcement.

1310News.com will also provide news, traffic, weather, sports, business and entertainment on-line plus “Breaking News Alerts” sent directly to mobile devices.

Rogers currently has all news radio stations in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Kitchener, Saint John, Moncton, and Halifax.
