Bell’s new apps store targets SMB customers

MONTREAL – Bell opened the doors to its new Bell Business Apps Store on Wednesday which offers small and medium businesses (SMBs) one-stop access to a range of web-based software applications.

The first cloud computing service of its kind in Canada, the Bell Business Apps store will help SMBs to run their business and respond to customer needs more effectively by delivering up-to-date, leading software applications without the high cost of ownership associated with purchasing software.

"Bell is demonstrating our continued commitment to providing innovative and cost-effective productivity tools to small and medium businesses," said Matthew Hurley, Bell’s SVP of small business market, in the announcement.  "We look forward to providing SMB customers with best-of-breed business apps, enhancing the store’s features based on user feedback and we invite the developers of Software-as-a-Service Applications to participate by contacting us through the Bell Business Apps Store."

Companies that subscribe to applications through the Bell Business Apps Store will be able to access and manage their subscriptions and users through a single portal.  There are no activation fees and apps are billed to a credit card each month based on the number of subscribers, so companies pay only for the apps required.
