BURLINGTON, ON – Canadian faith and family programming could soon be seen south of the border thanks to a new partnership between Crossroads/CTS and U.S.-based ComStar Media.
ComStar Media operates the faith and values channel Family Net and the family-friendly American Life network, which reach over 40 million homes in the U.S. The deal, which includes an investment in ComStar’s broadcasting arm ComStar Networks, provides CTS with the exclusive Canadian rights to Family Net and American Life programming, plus allows Crossroads/CTS to deploy ComStar’s social media technology in Canada.
"The strategy and vision of ComStar closely matches that of Crossroads and CTS," said Crossroads/CTS chairman and CEO, Don Simmonds, in Monday’s announcement. “It begins to fulfill our dream of finding capable, compatible partners around the world with whom we will work to produce and distribute clear faith and values messages more broadly through the media. Most importantly, the people behind ComStar believe in our vision to communicate a relevant message of Christian faith and values to North Americans of all ages, along their whole faith journey; using multiple technology platforms.”
