SCTE calls for papers at SEMI forum

EXTON, PA – The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers has issued a call for papers for its next Smart Energy Management Initiative (SEMI) forum.

Officially launched in February, SEMI is focused on meaningful and substantive applications of technology that lead to improved energy management and the reduction of energy consumption and expense. The new initiative is designed to help cable system operators to leverage the financial and environmental advantages of implementing ‘green’ strategies.

The forum is set for November 17 in Herndon, VA, and the deadline for proposals for technical presentations is August 6, 2010.  The technical presentations will centre upon issues such as efficiency improvements in plant powering, workforce communications tools that reduce energy usage, and viability of alternative-fuel vehicles.
