Koodo lets customers add new HSPA phones to Tab

TORONTO – Koodo Mobile added HSPA phones to its handset lineup Monday, and rolled out a new way to help customers pay for them.

Over the coming months, Koodo said that it will launch “several exciting HSPA phones that will offer exceptional value and social media connectivity”.  The company also said that customers can put a portion of the purchase price on their Koodo Tab, an alternative to fixed-term contracts that allows customers to ‘charge’ up to $150 of a phone’s price. 10% of each monthly bill is then credited to the Tab, and should the customer decide to terminate their plan, they simply pay off the Tab.

HSPA phones will allow Koodo customers with a SIM card equipped handset to use their phone in over 200 countries, the Telus flanker brand said.

"Koodo has always been focused on communication essentials such as talk and text”, said Kevin Banderk, chief Koodo officer, in a statement. “On-line social media has become a communication essential for many of our customers and the addition of HSPA phones ensures our customers will continue to get great connectivity with sites such as Facebook and Twitter. HSPA will also give Koodo customers the ability to travel internationally with their phone and broaden the choice of handsets we can offer consumers."
