WASHINGTON, DC – The Cable Show 2010 is trying to be ‘greener’ with a carbon offset program designed to reduce the convention’s carbon footprint.
The carbon offset program will allow exhibitors and attendees to contribute to the New York State Landfill Methane Project, a third-party validated project identified by the non-profit carbon reduction and climate solutions organization Carbonfund.org.
“We began an initiative to reduce waste several years ago, and are eager to ratchet up our efforts to promote conservation at The Cable Show 2010,” said Barbara York, SVP of the NCTA, in the announcement. “Many of our exhibitors have requested a carbon offset program, and we are happy to provide one. Carbonfund.org makes it easy to do the right thing and brings us closer to our goal of producing a carbon-neutral event.”

The 59th annual convention and international exposition of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) will be held May 11-13, 2010, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
