TORONTO – A total of 39 more people have been let go by Global Television Toronto, Cartt.ca has learned.
This is due to the fact that the company has decided to axe its Noon News show along with the morning news program, Global Live, which it already announced the cancellation of in November, along with the elimination of 210 broadcast employees.
January 30th is said to be the last day for both programs, but we have yet to confirm that.
The morning slot will be a simulcast of CH morning live out of Hamilton on the company’s E! Network
As well, while Global Toronto had planned to inject about 10 minutes of Toronto news per hour into the three-hour Hamilton, Halton and Niagara-focused CH Morning Live, the company has deemed those news updates too expensive, the company said in an e-mail to employees on Tuesday.
