TORONTO – Corus’ 52 radio stations raised the equivalent of more than $21 million during its fiscal 2009 fundraising initiatives for hundreds of charities and non-profit organizations nationwide.
Through air time support, gift-in-kind services, local fundraising assistance and cash donations, employees and listeners supported both long-standing charitable partnerships, as well as newer initiatives that provide assistance to well-deserving organizations.
"By leveraging the power of our broadcasting assets to assist local organizations, charities and people in need, Corus Entertainment is proud of the positive impact that our radio stations have made in the communities in which we work and live," said president and CEO John Cassaday, in the press release. "Despite a tough economy this year, we increased our support and contributions by $2 million over last year. We applaud the exceptional efforts of our radio staff in achieving these outstanding results."
