TORONTO – Canada’s most famous ‘hosers’, Bob and Doug McKenzie, are planning a return to television as part of a new animated series on Global aptly entitled Bob & Doug.
Premiering Sunday, April 19, the 22-episode original series will see SCTV alum Dave Thomas and comedian Dave Coulier reprise their roles as the beer drinking, touque wearing, and proudly Canadian brothers. The series will center around the fictional Canadian town of Maple Lake, and follow Bob and Doug’s lives as garbage men who, along with their gang of friends, often gather at the local ‘Skate ‘n Bowl’.
“Bob & Doug builds on the hilarity of the Canadian cult classic while offering viewers a fresh animated look at these beloved characters,” said Christine Shipton, senior vice president of drama and factual content for Canwest Broadcasting, in the announcement. “It is an outstanding addition to our strong and unique original slate.”
