TORONTO – A partnership between Corus Entertainment and StreamTheWorld will let listeners tune in to Corus’ 52 radio stations on their iPhone anywhere in the world, making it the first Canadian radio broadcaster to launch a native iPhone streaming application.
The application is compatible with the iPhone and iPod touch, and stations are searchable by call letters or by city. A feature called ‘shake the shuffle’ allows users to shake their device and be offered a random Corus radio station.
"Our radio stations need to be available wherever our listeners are, and on any device they choose to use," said David Huszar, vice president and GM of Corus Radio’s interactive division, in a press release. "With the increasing popularity of the iPhone and iPod touch as the device of choice for portable entertainment, we’re thrilled to offer our listeners the convenience of accessing their favourite Corus radio station through them."
The Corus radio application launched at sixth position in the iPhone top free applications for music.
