MTS inks $14.7 in contracts


TORONTO and WINNIPEG – MTS Allstream has signed a three-year, $13.5 million contract extension with Selectcom Telecom.

The companies announced that the deal will provide domestic long distance, international long distance, calling cards, toll free, Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), Internet, local lines and private lines for the Canadian-owned virtual network operator.

In other news, MTS Allstream will design and install a wireless wide area network (WAN) for the Prairie Rose School Division in Manitoba in a deal worth $1.2 million.

The WAN will allow for an upgrade to the current infrastructure, and access to Internet protocol-based data services like videoconferencing, and interactive learning applications, the press release said. Prairie Rose School Division has 28 locations and oversees the education of 2,400 students and employs approximately 400 full-time and part-time staff members.
