Score Media nets highest quarterly revenue, EBITDA in history


TORONTO – Score Media has reported its highest quarterly revenue and EBITDA in its history.

For its first quarter ended November 30, 2009, revenue grew 8% ($0.9 million) to $11.4 million, compared to $10.5 million in the same quarter last year, while EBITDA was $3.3 million, compared to $1.2 million in the previous year.

Excluding the impact of the $0.8 million CRTC Part II regulatory fee reversal, EBITDA for the quarter more than doubled with an increase of $1.3 million to $2.5 million, compared to $1.2 million in the previous year.  Net income was $1.1 million, compared to $0.2 million in the previous year.

"We continually strive to achieve growth across all areas of our business," said chairman and CEO John Levy, in a statement. "I congratulate everyone at the company in helping us realize both record revenue and EBITDA by remaining innovative and original in everything we do."

In other company news, its mobile sports application ScoreMobile for BlackBerry smart phones achieved its 1 millionth download since its launch seven months ago. The app was also recently rated by PC Magazine as one of the top 20 free applications for BlackBerry smart phones.

The company said that over 60% of ScoreMobile users come from the United States, and that it attracts over 40 million monthly page views.
