Rogers reformats Toronto radio station

TORONTO – Rogers Broadcasting has kissed 92.5 Jack FM goodbye, and replaced it with KISS92.5 FM, “the only ‘all hits’ radio station in the city of Toronto”.

"We did an incredible amount of research and it came back loud and clear”, said Sandy Sanderson, EVP of Toronto Radio, in the announcement. “It told us there was a huge unfulfilled demand for a station that would play All Hits and nothing but today’s Hits. We are encouraged by our findings that indicate there are a large number of people who are seeking out this kind of programming…more than we ever had thought."

The station kicked off its broadcast on Friday at 3:00 PM ET with a promise to play 10,000 songs in a row with no commercial interruption. On-air talent will be announced in the coming weeks.

The announcement said that station will seek to engage its listeners through instant messaging, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and several other social networking sites, as well as wirelessly via texting, which will "expand dramatically" what it can offer to advertisers.
